Edwards Wedding

Edwards Wedding

One with man, One with God

It was a last minute appointment, but I had the privilege of officiating the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Edwards. They are a very young couple that has been through some tough times, but the love they have for each other was clearly one of a kind. They answered my questions about financial issues, struggles, day to day living issues, and what happens when the going gets tough and seems to only get worst. However, the best part of my brief counseling with them was when I got to portray why God decided to send Jesus to planet earth for Brandon's bride, Emily. John 3:16 (New Living Translation) says: For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

I have heard sermons and more sermons about how Jesus came and died for our sins. This is true and very important, but sometimes we miss the big picture. For God so loved the world so much!! What does world represent and who belongs in this world? Maybe we should put our name instead of the world "For God loved the (put your name in here) so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." Now that gives a whole new meaning to that verse. This is the big picture.

Maybe prior to reading this blog, you really haven't known Jesus and didn't really understand why Jesus died for your sins so you could have salvation, however I pray that your eyes would be opened to the fact that Jesus died for YOU because, GOD LOVES YOU SO MUCH!!! If you want to talk more about Jesus message me.

I am very grateful for what you have done for us. Thank you so much for letting Emily know a little more about Jesus Christ. We couldn't have ask for a better moment in our life. There is no stronger way of thanking you, Reverend Sam, for what you have done for us. We would love to see you again another day...perhaps a day in church.

Sincerely, Brandon & Emily Edwards

The non-Christians I know typically have great reecspt for Jesus of Nazareth- they just don\'t accept him as the Messiah. As a Christian, I do believe they\'re missing the most important part of His teachings, but the best way I know to share the Gospel is by trying my hardest to live by the example He set. It\'s my responsibility to let God\'s love for the world embodied in Christ\'s great sacrifice reflect through my words and actions.
